The blaze is now the region's seventh-largest wildfire since records began and its severity has been linked to Sierra Nevada’s changing climate. But how is climate change making wildfires worse? Penn State University's assistant professor of forest resources Matthew Hurteau explains how a range of factors, including longer drought periods and climbing temperatures, are igniting the infernos.
